Refund and Cancellation Policy

At Majestic Northeast Tours and Adventures, we strive to deliver an exceptional and seamless travel experience. We understand that travel plans can change unexpectedly. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy is designed to be transparent, fair, and clearly outline the terms for cancellations, modifications, and refunds.

By booking a tour, hotel, or transportation service with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Standard Cancellation Policy (By the Traveler)

If you wish to cancel your booking, the cancellation request must be submitted to us in writing via email. The date of receipt of the email will determine the applicable cancellation charges.

The cancellation fee is calculated as a percentage of the total package cost:

2. Component-Specific Policies

A. Hotel Bookings

While we follow our standard policy whenever possible, certain luxury resorts, homestays in remote areas, or peak-season bookings (e.g., during the Hornbill Festival, Durga Puja, or Christmas/New Year) enforce a 100% non-refundable policy from the day of booking. In such cases, the hotel’s specific policy will supersede our standard policy.

B. Transportation & Vehicle Rentals

  • Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled pickup will receive a full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to pickup are non-refundable.

C. Government Permits & Entry Fees

Charges incurred for Inner Line Permits (ILP), Protected Area Permits (PAP), national park safari bookings (e.g., Kaziranga, Manas), and monument tickets are 100% non-refundable once processed.

3. Cancellations due to Force Majeure (Unforeseen Circumstances)

The Northeast region can occasionally experience unpredictable weather, landslides, political strikes (bandhs), or sudden government restrictions.

  • If a tour is cancelled or cut short during operation due to natural disasters, roadblocks, or political unrest, no refund can be issued for unutilized services (hotels, vehicles, guides) as these funds are pre-paid to local vendors.
  • However, we will make every effort to arrange alternative itineraries or provide a Credit Voucher for future travel, subject to availability and vendor approvals.

4. Cancellations by Majestic Northeast Tours and Adventures

In the rare event that we must cancel a tour prior to departure due to operational reasons, insufficient bookings, or safety concerns, you will receive:

  • A 100% full refund of the amount paid, OR
  • The option to transfer your funds to an alternative tour package.

Note: The company is not liable for any incidental expenses incurred by the traveler, such as non-refundable airline tickets, visa fees, or vaccination costs.

5. Refund Processing Timeline

  • Once a refund request is approved, the amount will be processed back to the original payment method (Bank Transfer, Credit/Debit Card, or UPI).
  • Please allow 7 to 14 business days for the refunded amount to reflect in your account, depending on bank processing times.
  • Any bank transaction charges or currency conversion fees incurred during the refund process will be borne by the client.
